The only real difference is the preamp. I played the one I bought at GC and swapped back and forth with the U.S. Stingray 5 for about 45 minutes. The neck is about as svelte as a baseball bat and the 100% genuine ebonized fingerboard is pitiful. The finish flakes off for no apparant reason and the end pin is so poor it feels like the thing is mounted on a swivel.
