I understand that mad men is a unique show, but does anybody recommend other shows or movies that take place in the 50-60's with similar social mores? It’s smart, witty and hilarious, but it addresses dark themes as well, like abortion, addiction, depression, mental health, etc. In that same boat, Episodes, on Netflix. Definitely a lighter vibe, and not a period piece, like Mad Men, but, again, same type of self-sabotaging protagonist, and smart + witty dialogue.
