As you noted it is a big weight reduction and that reduction is on the FRONT of the gun. My gun balances much better now. If you go with Smoke they make two diameters that will fit. You can get a carbon fiber handguard which will not heat up anywhere near as quickly, Troy, Smoke Composites, and many other companies make nice ones. You can also use a Manta Tac Wrap, KE SHTF+ Wrap, or a Camo Form Wrap on any handguard which will shield you from the heat. However they also add the most weight.

The short pull is 0.89oz lighter than the rifle length, but unfortunately for me, I’m a tall, lanky guy. I’ve tried the short pull stock, and short stocks on other’s builds and it just doesn’t feel right for me. I much prefer a longer length of pull. Now put your low profile gas block and gas tube on. Then slide the handguard over the barrel nut. Loosely install the 6 supplied screws into the holes.
