It depends if the area is amazing.and everyone wants to live there. If so then combined with a favourable answer to 1) and 2) then less of a worry. There is no way to buy an EU citizenship just by purchasing a property in Spain or Portugal. You can, I believe, ‘invest’ about €500k in Malta and get a Maltese passport but that ‘investment’ is money that you pay to the government. You don’t get to buy yourself a house in Malta that comes with a passport.
