The problem was that even when they slept on the couch, the tallish one would wake them up standing in the entrance of the hallway, never crossing into the newer part of the house. I remember a few times my brother waking me up in middle of night asking to sleep with me. It was really scary times and honestly caused us all a lot of stress.
