Repainting deck with Behr Deck over. Do I HAVE to strip it first? So, last year I actually painted the deck with deck over a dark brown. It looks nice but it gets over 160 degrees F on hot days and even my dog can't tolerate walking on it. Needless to say the deck is unusable in the height of summer.
